Approach

The only effective approach is to decisively break the sequence that deepens the legal crisis. The core issue lies in the ambiguity of the law, which stems from its lexical nature and from the subjective interpretation by individuals with different professional and life experiences, as well as sometimes insufficiently objective approaches to particular cases. Moreover, the widespread adoption of large language models (LLMs), such as ChatGPT, further complicates this situation, since some attorneys, legal counsels, and judges attempt to use these systems when preparing documents for legal proceedings. Such practices are extremely dangerous not only due to the risk of confidential information leaks, but also due to the hallucinations characteristic of these systems.

The solution must be radical, free of randomness, and entirely devoid of the hallucinations produced by statistical language-based systems.

For this reason, a semantic approach was chosen — one based on artificial intelligence operating deterministically and performing reasoning using a specially designed logical system. Legal rules should be unequivocal, just as they are in programming languages. They should also be executable, meaning that legal consequences must be deterministically derivable from the applicable law and the factual description of a case.

Therefore, the law should be represented using an artificial language that formally and unambiguously describes it. The determination of legal consequences must be explainable, meaning that the system must be capable of providing a clear and unambiguous explanation of the reasoning process that leads to a given conclusion.

The artificial intelligence system developed for this purpose is fundamentally different from large language models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT and similar solutions. By design, it is unequivocal, executable, explainable (UEE) — fully automatic and free from subjective judgment.
